Installing a new fender joining panel

Is there a special jig to use or a trick to aligning a new fender joining panels correctly? When I did the front pan in the car, I was able to use the suspension as a jig. Is there a similar trick for the fender joining panels, or are they a no-brainer to align and install?

TIA

Ive done this job and it's not a no brainier especially with aftermarket repair panels.

I used the factory spot weld locations and the fender to guide me where to weld the new panel on. My car is a 74, so the nut plates float a bit which is nice to dial in the alignment. I think they're 73 require a more precise alignment.

Be prepared to install and remove the fender several times to check the fit as you go. Use clecos or screws to attach the panel before welding to check the fit.
The video of me doing this repair is on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out.

You're welcome! Aligning panels is tough work, but so worth it in the end. Best of luck and post questions.
