There are car editors out in the NFS fan websites with loads of cars to download, and the files to download to unlock all the cars with the game.

I used to host NFSPU races when I was on Rennlist a few years back, and used to have solo runs where I would list the car, the track, and the game settings, then everyone would email their best time with a screen shot of the final time.

The best races always were when everyone had the same stock car, the 914's were great, the 2.7rs wasn't bad, but a bit squirly. Great fun to have 6-8 guys running at once.

I'll see if I can join in tonight, if I can get my steering wheel to work with xp. Is that 10pm est?

I did not like driving the RS. Like John said.. it was hella-squirley. My favorite so far is the 993 twin turbo. It's just easier to drive.

But whatever we use will be cool.

it sounds like we need more than one person to host a game.

I won't be able to be on tonight, but I'm definitely up for it some other night!

I don't have this game yet but I play battlefield 1942 online.

With it all you need is the game and to download the latest patch. You then launch the game while online. Click on multiplayer and it gives you a selection of servers that run the game. You choose one thats not full and it's game-on.

Does NFS not have anything like this? They are both EA games.

I'll sign up for this, too! I need to figure out EST/PST/MST first, though.

Hey Chris, I'm a big-time BF42 & Desert Combat fiend, too. Maybe a Pelican Parts battle is on the cards, too.

They did, but took it down over a year ago. NFSPU is a pretty old game.

You need to play the evolution mode, where you can buy your own cars, and then set them up. Ride height, toe, tire pressure plus better parts makes the RS awesome.

I'll try and join up.

Cool. what servers do you play on. I mostly stick with the EA ones for BF and go with wherever I can get on with DC.

I have found a server where you can play Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 online. I'm guessing that's the newest version?

It's
GameSpy

John find the gimme.dll file in the PU folder and rename it to anything, I renamed it test_gimme.dll. I'm not sure if this will take care of your DirectX problem. Make sure you have the lastest version of DirectX.

The IP will be 169.254.250.241

It makes a huge difference setting the cars up right. The physics models are loose though & adjustments don't always have the effects you would expect. I remember there are a few tips & tricks that can shave tens of seconds off lap times

I'm gonna be stuck at work

If anybody can give it a try real quick, lets test her out. I'll set it up, then we'll come back here before race time.

NFS HP2 is yucky, all of the cars handle as if every part of the car is suspended on long springs. There is a delay to all of your inputs, and the handling is horrible. They do seem to tend to oversteer which is fun I guess, but I have tried to like that game and can't. From what I understand it was done by different people than NFSPU, so that explains the problems.

I'm available if anyone else is. Try 208.191.146.111, I'll see if I can get a thing going.
