adomakin.
I'm not sure if the game is the most realistic drivers one out there (I've not played the other console ones) but the different cars do have different handling characteristics and can take time to get used to.

and.....i got it for under a tenner so it can't be too bad.

I will have to check my version again. It is very possible I am pre 3.5 but I did overwrite my exe file with the patch that (forget the name) sent me.

I will also be opening up port 9442 tonight when I get home.

glasgow, do yourself a favour and get a playstation2 and a copy of GranTurismo3, get into it, then wait with baited breath for GranTurismo4 (may 04) which is going to be online capable. honestly, the gt series of games is truely astonishing. (god i sound like the biggest nerd geek on the planet)

this game that you are all going on about: is a good simulation of driving a car? how does it compare with granturismo for the playstation (which is surely THE best driving sim)
UMMMM because it's all PORSCHE, and it's a computer game that you can go online with and race fellow Pelicans. Can't really beat that IMO. It is a very realistic game, just try handling the tail happy RS.

gt3 has got the ruf ctr's........they are pretty tail happy, especially if you win enough dough to upgrade them to 800hp! and gt4 (may04) is gonna be online too.

I tried to connect to all the posted IPs last night with the version I have (v5.0) and had no luck. Most of them said connecting and then connection lost or host has a different version? So instead I practiced solo with the RS.

If Im able to connect tonight prepare for some damage!

adomakin, trust me, you haven't even begun to sound like "the biggest nerd geek on the planet". I work in a room with 100 other people 50% of which are much bigger geeks than that. Some would make your head spin.

The physics are great for an arcade style game, but can't touch the realistic games like GTR2002 or GPL.

GT3 is a great game too. NFS:PU is appealing because there are so many different porsches in it (at least 50 different models I'm guessing).

For the most realistic Porsche driving experience, I just take my car for a spin.

Might try & get in on the action tonight, if anyones still going around 9pm pacific time.

Sports Car GT is a pretty realistic game w/ 993 GT1's 2's & 3's. Its pretty tough & racing is very tight. I'm not sure if you can do multiplayer though.

I have the new patch installed, looking forward to some action tonight.

Eric Coffey was a pretty good driver last night. I had to resort to demolition derby tactics to have a chance at beating him.

I just bought the game today, SWEET!

Where can I find the patch (3.5)?

I have XP, is there anything else I need to do to join the Pelican multiplayer games?

EDIT: I see the patch link above. Is there anything else I need to do to join the multiplayer games?
