My 911 is leaving!

Well the time has come. Just had confirmation that the buyer has his finances in order, and the car will be picked up sometime this weekend.

Serious buyers remorse setting in, along with recurrent memories of how much fun I've had building this car and running it. Much of the inspiration, education, and motivation to do all this came from this very board. Its a great crowd and a priceless resource, not to mention some of the best car junkie humor around.

Pick up my new track car next week - anyone with a weak stomach should stop reading right now.....

Its an 89 951 PCA E car, which I'm planning to run in 944 SuperCup and PCA club race. A dedicated track car with a solid log book and great history. 30 something K miles, and beautifully sorted. It should be a blast once I teach myself to drive a FEWC. Don't care what they say, I'm NOT lifting even if its OK in these cars!

Guess I'll just wander over to my new home on the 944 Turbo board and the race boards. Will check in here every now and again just to ensure the rowdies are still under control.

Keep the 911 faith, and DON'T LIFT!

Man Tony, its sad to hear that your letting your 911 go. Your 999 looks sweet, I know the new owner will be getting a jem. Good luck with the '89 951.

Don't worry, we WILL keep the faith, unlike a certain person who will remain unnamed (you traitor). Seriously, Tony, it has been a pleasure getting to know you. If I can speak for the local dorkiphi, your sound advice and help with our 911 issues and your friendship have been greatly appreciated. I hope you stay in touch on the local board and I'm sure our paths will be crossing at future dorki and PCA events. You have my sympathy and condolences on the sale of your great car.

Tony's No. 999 is quite a car and will certainly be missed. Especially on the NoVA fun runs. Now Tony, you're gonna need a fun run car to complement your track-only beast. Maybe a long hood?

Great gaping hole in the garage [at least until my daughter tried to claim it!], no Pcar to drool over, and somebody else owns the really nicely set up and sorted 911 that I sweated blood over for years.
This sucks. No more NOVA fun runs unless [until?] I buy a 911 street car again.

Oh well, off to Ohio on Friday to pick up the new track car.



One consolation is that I'm really tempted to run in the 944 SuperCup race at the Rennsport Reunion in Daytona. Now THAT would be cool.

You can ride shotgun with me again in the 993 for our fun runs. I can lend you a license plate if you want to bring the 951 along. You'd be the first 951 to ever come to one of our fun runs. I sure wouldn't look forward to DIY work on that car.
