Cold start enrichment

Hi Guys
The twin plug, slide valve engine shown in the previous picture, now has the Supertec cable operated enrichment device. It starts easier, warms up quicker and it allows the engine to start without the cold start injection which washes any dirt and grime that is in the intake right through the engine.

Does look like the ideal solution but well out of my price range, seems a little expensive.

What are your rings worth?

By not washing the intake grime through your engine, how much longer will your engine last, not to mention that the cable operated enrichment allows you to control the enrichment without the hassles of heat riser tube and getting out of the car to adjust a hand screw mechanism.
We manufactured the screw type adjuster for years and it proves to be way too much trouble for the average Porsche owner. Get in, pull up the handle, hit the key and go. Warm-up is your option.
It is also our contention that washing the throttle shaft bushings with grimy fuel can't help them last.

Nigel,

Sure, replacing the thermostat with an adjustable, even a remote adjustable knob is possible ...

But, I'm not sure a fabricated, two-piece, Kleenex-box sized, held together with sheet-metal screws ... hot-air box for the MFI thermostat ... would be all that difficult, either ... sounds like a Saturday afternoon/evening project to me!

Henry, I am unable to access your website? It says it doesn't exist..?

I'm curious to see how the remote system is configured.

Thanks.

Can't get in?

Hi Matt
Sorry to hear you can't access my web site. Many people from your part of the world are blocked by my server because of security issues. All I can say is try again. Here's a picture in the mean time.

he he- security issues from little old New Zealand! We've only had the internet for around a year or so over here

Anyway, if my reckoning is correct, that lever works on the end of a protruding shaft; the other end of the shaft works the mfi enrichment as per normal.
From the lever, a cable goes into the cabin to the hand throttle.
I guess it's not as simple as that, but is that the principle?

Thanks!

Hackers are the problem, and they are everywhere. When a threat is perceived, justified or not, my server protects his clients. As for the enrichment devise, in principle, you're close.
You don't want to attach it to the hand throttle because you don't always want enrichment and the hand throttle is on. We supply an additional handle.

Henry,

So for the price you qouted me, you get the device, cable and a pull handle for the interior? If so your price seems pretty reasonable. If its al a carte then I may have to ponder on it a little longer.
