Porsche Crest Wayne, create a tranny rebuild forum?

This is something which will be near and dear to my heart in the next month, so I thought I'd float the topic. There's alot of good information about rebuilding the 915 transmission in the 911 technical forum, but would it be better by adding a new forum similar to the current engine rebuild forum?

Just a question, flame away!

It's not as much of having enough knowledge, but more having the knowledge we have organized and easy to find for DIYers like me

I'd agree. I used the engine rebuild forum many times when doing mine. Having a specific forum like that tends to collect experts and provides for more detailed info. I think trans is a good canidate for a specialized forum.

Cool

A forum for the transmission could be a good way for Wayne to organize his next book project. Such as "The 915 transmission, by Wayne Dempsey"

This would also lead to addendums for the 901 transmission and the G50.

This information will be good for the customers that Wayne would like to attract. Now that P-Dealers are becoming more water pumper oriented, the air-cooled cars are being pointed towards independent shops for repairs. The problem being that the independents in most cases don't see enough of our cars to be actually fluent in them unless they specialize in them.

Good idea dontcha think Wayne?

Thanks,
David Duffield

I'd *love* to see a transmission rebuild book by Wayne. But I'll settle for a Tranny rebuild forum for now...ok not settle, BEG for a forum!
