Lightweight has become an obsession!

I think this guy has stumbled on to the LOW cost answer to 911R door handles
a simple drill and you're set!..
I'll take some pic's when I am done with this mod. hahahah! just messing..
I'd rather save the cash and buy the 911R handles. which I should have enough for by the end of the summer hahah.

I must say I DO LOVE the way this guy thinks though!

Later Eric

don't do it Eric...that looks like crap and would probably be a hassle down the road (keeping clean, and removing moisture) for such a small gain.

Not that crazy, shoot most of us are aware that at one point the factory drilled the ignition key full of holes!

Probably correct though, doesn't do any good for aero.

If you drill at the right angle you could get a cool whistling sound too.

Good Point Sean... hahah .. It simply gets in the way everytime I try into the car..
Another BONUS or getting rid of the door would be I'll never lock myself out of the blessid car again.
hahaha ..

You guys need to watch more Simpsons. Maybe I'm just a youngin'!

Those are obviously 'speedholes' as described by a used car sales man to Homer after a failed attempt on Homers life by the mob left several bullet holes in the car Homer was looking at. Homer then proceeds home and uses a mining pick to 'delicately'place some 'speedholes' in his family station wagon. I laughed

You could eliminate the aerodynamic penalty (somewhat) by covering the outside of the handle with some of the 3M Stoneguard stuff that's used to eliminate rock chips. You could then start drilling some of the body panels in the same fashion, covering the holes with the plastic. You might even end up with an odd aerodynamic benefit, on some parts of the body, since the plastic would dimple in like the surface of a golf ball.

The mind reels.
