Good choice.
Congrats. I think you made the right choice. I understand perfectly how difficult it is to sell something you've got so much sweat equity in. I'm curious, when you say your dad doesn't want a race car, do you mean he doesn't want any type of small sports car or is your car tuned for racing? If the later, I wonder could you de-tune so your dad likes driving it, then keep the parts and sell it to your dad for him to drive a few years. You could offer to buy it back later at an agreed price after you finish paying for the RS? That way you could eventually own both. Talk to him about the enjoyment of father/son drives; see if you can get him to some Porsche events. Sell him on keeping a Porsche. As they said in the movie Trading Places, you've got to "sell, sell, sell".

"Let the Force be With You" Matt!
If it's your dream car, then buy it. Even if it means sacrificing something you love, as you will probably be sacrificing it for something you will love even more. Will it be a daily driver or a track car? |
Simon,
It'll be my daily driver for the first month or two before it becomes a weekend pressure valve! I'll also race it a few times a year, depending on my fiscal status leading up to each PCV event! |

That's a great poster! That and a poster of the Natalie Portman image above would be worthy additions to our poster collection! |
