For looks I think the car would look great. From a pratical stand point I see no reason. Go with what feels right.
Anyways I vote RSR something like this. http://www.autometricsmotorsports.co...ister/dave.jpg |
If you do this, let me know how much you want for your current tail.

RSR or 934?
If I were to find an RSR look already done, what would my car be worth? Just curious.
|
There would need to be more details (different people have different definitions of "rebuilt") but I'd guess around $9K if it's cosmetically good. I bought my SC for $8K with rebuilt motor but the paint and interior were shot.

I will second the IROC, or 3.0 RSR suggestion. That would support 9" wheels front and 11" in the rear.
I don't care for the 14" vented flares in the rear from an aesthetic standpoint. The IROC cars are much more pleasing to the eye, IMHO. If you are planning on going full bore replica, you can get more than adequate rubber under the IROC 11" flares. You can use turbo flares if you are not too particular, as the real IROC cars had the early rounded flares. Here is my IROC project prior to paint and just before the car fire destroyed it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077638057.jpg I did not have the money for the huge tires, so I used Fuchs 7" front and 9" rear with spacers. |
rsr or 934
if you are interested i have a 76 coupe converted to 935 bodywork. it has many mods built on a california rust free chassis. it does not have a motor or tranny but does have coilover suspension, 6 piston front brakes, turbo rears, 930 rear arms, with adjustable camber boxes, 13and10 by 17 fikses with 335 and 285 michelin pilot, 935 spring plates, adjustable sway bars, etc.
problem is the flares are so large that the 335s look almost lost in the rear. the car has a 934 one piece front and the 935 rear with the huge flares and tail. if you wish to discuss my email is lin7310948@charter.net |
Matt,
Do you have any more pixs of that sweet Black IROC look? Please post, or PM. Thanks. |
Lothar, sorry to hear about your project going up in flames. It sure looked like you did it right from the photos. Did you do the work yourself? I plan on doing mine to save a few thousand $$$.

Hey, does anyone have a scan of the "Captain Nice and the IROC Gang" article, or can someone scan it??
Also, Steve, do you have any more photos like the giant Jager 934 shot?? |

It's a sweet looking '76. Would be ashame to rip it up.
Why don't you sell it, buy a beater and make something special out of a neglected dog..... |
RSR or 934?
I am thinking about this as an alternative. I just got the RS type of interior done except roll bar. The car runs very strong, rebuilt everything, and several upgrades.

I am now leaning toward steel flares and RSR FG bumpers. Lindsey looks like the have the right wheels for me in 10" x 16" rears. |
RSR looks
I've always liked the RSR looks and jumped at the chance to buy my car when it was available last November. Upgraded motor, a rollcage and some new paint and it's back on the road/track.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077898480.jpg

Here are a couple of 934 ideas:

Hey, I like your car the way it is, just paint the wing and it'll be perfect.
|
Mike your car is nice as is, The only thing that I would change is the ugly & distracting bumpers.
Maybe something subtle like this; http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077909273.jpg |
