It's funny, the 934 looks good from certain angles, and horribly ugly from others. In fact, sometimes it looks cheap.
The RSR is nice, but again, ostentatcious as all hell... I agree with Bobby Piper and Bill - your car looks good as is. There's a classic sense to it. If you really want to do work on your car, why not an RS 3.0? If at all, you're going to have to do much engine and drivetrain work to compensate the body kit - if you want to make proper use of the body kit at all. |
Bill Verberg,
What are those nice smooth bumpers, where did you get them? |
Serving suggestions:
Car #1 wide body with street style 934 front bumper, box rockers ,and 3.3 tailhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077929036.jpg |
Car #2- wide body with iroc lookhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077929162.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077929253.jpg

Car #3 your 911sc/ carrera body with our bumpers- a mini iroc look. works best with ducktail on proportionhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077929421.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077929460.jpg

RSR is my vote

RSR
After the cosmetic upgrade, RSR or 934, next is the engine. I have access to turbo and 3.6 motors. I want the wide body but something different from the rest. I had a turbo-look cab prior to my children and miss the look. I have been driving this car for close to 6 years and am ready for a change. This is a rust-free 76, rebuilt prior to my purchase, non-sunroof car. A great platform to upgrade if you ask me. Anyone have a trade for a wide-body with a RSR or 934 look?

long nose?
From the picture is this considered a long nose hood or short nose? I'm planning on changing over to a fglass hood eventually. This one flipped up on the PO at 80+ mph, luckily only tweaked it slightly and didn't break or damage anything else.

Longhoods extend past the leading edge of the fenders, that's a short hood.

Mike 911, don't know if this helps: I'm currently building a track 911 which will have RSR vented fenders and use center lock wheels as discussed on this thread. I'm not sure of the width of the 934 fenders by comparison, but if your thinking of going RSR vented style, the narrow RSR fenders and quarters start at 2" wider than regular 930 fenders, which measure 2" wider than sc. You would need some killer street rubber! RSR - I'm all for it! See my project link for some more pictures of the wheel width. The base car is an sc and the body work will start shortly.

Jim that is a pretty cool porject you have going.

RSR
Thanks Jim. Cool project and neat site. Thanks for sharing. I'd like to see it when it is done.

RSR
It looks like the RSR is the way to go. Steel flares bonded on with the 3M adhesive and the FG front and rear bumper just like the cover of the new Excellence mag.

Jim that is too cool. Great pics, I love to see the fabrication process though it stirs my feelings of inadequacy! I spent too much time interning in a suit and tie setting during college......I'll have to catch up in retirement:)
