I just sold similar seats in leather, with sliders for $1,550. I just sold them for the amount I paid. I figured that I would pass on the savings.

Wow, that are too cool. The Turbo S seats. Where could I get those in red. Any ideas. How difficult to get the light insert recovered in red? I am sure the painting part would not be too difficult.

I emailed him and expressed interest if they don't sell. Since they are not the right color combo, I would onlky be interested in picking them up at a discount and figuring out a way to get painted and do red inserts. What would be a good price for these.

Scooter, where did you run across yours. Why did you sell. Was it comfort or fitment issues.

Anyone know weight reduction for these compared to the regular 964 seats, or at least an estimate.

E-man...3 grand! (funny I accidentally clicked on the thread and saw my NAME! ) I would love some serious sport seats, but the DAD ricer seats are good enough for <$400...

3 Grand! Good Goats of Gallos, I could never justify them...

I watched that auction to the last second!! Once it went above $1500 I was out. I'm curious too why you sold.

The inserts would be pretty easy to do, since they're removeable. They're held in place by velcro. The rear is fiberglass, and is also easy to repaint.

You pay for authenticity with these.

Then again, the repros are about the same price -- only difference is they're brand new. I've got the repros in all black.

The seat itself is a Recaro Pole Position SPG. It's a very comfortable (non-reclining) seat, and each one weighs about 15 pounds.

I would be cool with the reproductions if they have the same inserts and look the same. Where is a good place to find them.

the RS seats are some of the more affordable Porsche seats from the dealer. they retail for $3700..........each.
i looked the price for the sport seats in my 993. YIKES !! $10,000+ ....each. or, roughly 40% of blue for my car for the pair.

Yes, I did double check....and yes, US dollars.

i think i have to go sit down.....just wait, i am sitting. ...i think i have to go lay down....

The reproductions are made by FVD in Germany. FVD-USA in Florida sells them, as does Schatz Motorsports, out in California.

With the weak dollar, they are now $1495 each, which doesn't include mounting hardware (better to buy elsewhere, in any case), which makes them more expensive than the used ones being sold here.

Click on the seat for more info:

Scroll down to "Recaro RS Sportseat." They're the real deal, in terms of quality. Actual Recaro seats with very well-done leather upholstery, and the Recaro mark embossed in the headpiece. They're better than your local upholstery guy would probasbly do, but also more costly.

Here is one source for the RS reproductions. If you don't need the leather, just buy a set of Recaro Pole Positions. As Jack mentioned, they are the same seat/shell, just without the fancy covering.

Thanks guys. Good links. The seller emailed me back and said he though he could get some with red seat backs. Sounds like $ 3,000 is not too bad of a price for the real seat in leather if condition is good. I may get the red seat back ones if he can get them.

I was a lucky winner on evil-bay. $1,550 plus shipping of approximately $80. I had them in my car for about two weeks. They were very comfortable once I got into them. These are great racing seats, but they did not work for me for daily use. I wear suits to work and they were just too difficult to get in and out of the car. Adding to the difficulty, they were too high. I would have lowered them if I kept them. Weight was about 12 lbs. for the seats and 15 for the sliders. I think a stock seat weighs between 45-55 lbs? Huge weight savings.
