Where to have 911R 15 X 7 repros made?

Looking for some info on where to have 911r 15 X 7 REPROS made. I have 15X6 inch fuchs and would like them to be 1 inch wider on the inside. 911R 15 X 7's are going for $1k and up apiece now so, if I can have them cut on a big lathe and a 1 inch band welded in the backside, it should be a little cheaper. There are threads on this but the shops who have done these wheels in the past are not doing it anymore. Any body have a clue on who is currently set up to do this? A shop in or near Michigan would be nice but probably not likely.

Any clues are appreciated.
thanks
Ken

I know a shop in Cologne, Germany. He used to do for DP motorsport and have done mine 8+9*16 ekstra deep fuchs. Still interrested?

i think there are shops that are doing this but not advertising due to liability issues. the local wheel restoration shop here in the bay area is working on a "prototype" but not sure of the status of that project. andy boyle had some made but he is in the UK. however, there are others here on the board that have had them made. i am sure you will get a PM starting off with "pssst...hey you looking to score some R wheels?"
let us know what you find out.

Thanks guys!
I'd just as soon have them made in the US if possible. Shipping, customs etc. I know there are people out there who have had them done. Come on guys! Cough it up!

K.B: There where also some Fuchs replicas made, I think Performance Products sold them, that where made of cast alu ISO forgded.
When I bought my car there where 7/8*16 replicas on looked ok, but I had a near death expirence when the front left broke, when doing app. 100 MPH.
The car was almost totalled, and I was very chocked.
Always check Porsches original PN is inside (behind the spoke).
I haven't learned though: last summer I had some 8/9*16 welded up.
The only reason I did this was because I checked his background, He's made Fuch's for DP motorsport for serveral years and they came with TÛV (Germany's DOT)
So, be careful what you do!

Thanks palle7688, I'm hoping not to have a hair raising experience like yours. That's why I'm looking for somebody who has successfully had some made up in the recent past. Just curious what did they cost you to have a set made in Germany.

1500,- Euro or something like $1900,- with new anodizing and black painted. The guy must have used 8 wheels to do them. Real eyecandy with 225/50-245/45-16. If you have wheels that you want wider it's cheaper, I didn't have any. Used to ride on old Gotti's 9/11*15, but rear tires are hard to find in 285/40-15.
The only downside, except from cost is that now I'm planning on bigger brakes and not all rotors will fit.

Guys,
Harvey Weidman at Weidmans Wheels does this conversion. Its about $600 per wheel, including refinishing. he has an add in Excellence, in the back.

I've got some older replicas with R offset. They've served me well over the years. If you want them they are now for sale.

Here are a few shots of my replica 7R rims and my real pair. I bought the replicas (half polished ones in the pics) which have had a band welded into a standard deep 6. The job looks very good and they run striaght and true. I belive they were done in Germany, I could find out if need be. These will also be for sale in the near future.

Thanks

Hey Alan, I think I have a picture of your rims printed out from another post of yours. That is what I show people to let them know what I am looking for. Seems like there would be a few shops able to do this correctly in the states. It definately takes a big lathe and some expertise at welding. My rims are already deanodized, I would prefer to do my own polish job. I prefer to use genuine Fuchs over some other brand as well.

Thanks Troy. I heard Weidemans wasn't doing them any more, I'll have to look into it.

If you need anymore pics Ken let me know.

Those parts polished rims in the earlier pics, were never fitted in the end as I located a real pair. If you know anyone whom maybe interested in them please let me know.

I am in around the £500 mark for them

Thanks

Yes, I know, it sucks. Actually, I had the choice between digital camera or these Fuchs, how difficult can that be!!!!
