Angry Boy am I glad I pulled my plugs

Ok so I'm pulling the plugs to inspect and gap when I get to #6 . . . . . what's up with this . . . . can't get the plug socket in the hole. So I peek in and couldn't believe what I saw.

The fan, etc was removed for obvious reasons

Maybe a cat would be more useful than the dog. Mind you the motor has been out since Jan. 2

Looks like you have gremlins or mice, one or the other.

Marc,
So what are we looking at? Are those little round things moving by any chance?

Sherwood:

Purina . . . . .

The purveyors were caught in the attic last week . . . had no idea they were hanging out in the 3.2 by day.

Steve: The latter of course . . . I found a crumb trail going into the fan.

Have a great weekend

Marc, now you've got me worried. The 73E's been sitting idle for the last two months. I guess I'll need to look for little critters, too.

I didn't think mice could afford to live here in NoVA.

Will that help to ward off that oily 911 engine smell? I might have to give that a try, first I need to get a dog....

Could be worse! Drove my car for months wondering why it ran so badly. Had been sitting for a while before purchase and found out why:

It gets cold in Germany in winter and the mice found a nice place to make a nest! Ruined the motor and the rest is history...

Diana,

Thats a great idea! Run the fan backwards, suck the air up through the cylinders and heads and exhaust it to the rear, and it might give another 5-10 miles per hour! Bet Porsche tried it at one time...

Perhaps you need your cat re-installed. Some people take theirs off for emissions and end up like this.....

Ive had the exact same experience in my 78 targa. Kind of makes you sick that mice have had free run of your Porsche for quite some time. I set poision bait in car and moved my dog food a ways from the car. If you see one mouse there are ten or more. Good luck.

Marc,
I'm sure your intentions were good but you're going to have to do more to your engine than feed it purina if you want to pass me at VIR this season.
