I don't think anybody was nasty to FenderGuy. He just chose a couple of spectacularly bad cars as his first Porsche, and then got all upset when we told him so. He seems to have learned to take advice, and does much better now. His nearly indecipherable syntax didn't help.
To quote one of our better presidents: if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. |
This is without a doubt the most civil and professional BBS I've ever seen, there's none of the virtual "I'll kick your ass" type BS that I've seen on others. OT, I just know those people are the biggest pussies in real life.:p Anyway, I really don't recall anything said to Frank in regards to any of his, ahem, questionable choices in cars that was really offensive. I'd like to think that some of us had extreme reactions to the cars because we didn't want to see him get ripped off, not because of our opinions. Despite the fact that I don't like slantnoses, if Frank (aka Fenderguy) had come on here and stated that he was going to buy a real slantnose, or even what appeared to be a well done conversion, I would have given the civil "get a PPI" advice and left well enough alone. Now, gold chain and pinkie ring jokes aside, all of those cars appeared to be nightmarish hack jobs that would have sucked old Frank drier than a $2 hooker. To his credit, Frank has persevered, and obviously listened to what we've said, because he's right on the verge of buying what appears to be a quality SC Targa, with a 3.0 no less.;) Maybe I'm just used to taking $hit, but that's one of the things I like about this board, if you are about to do something stupid, people call you on it. I'd rather have people that care but might be a little coarse at times than people who don't give a $hit.

That said, you're mommas so fat.......:D
|
Uh... where can I find your $2 hooker?
|
like my mom said, "fark'em if they can't take a joke."

Your mama's got so much hair under her armpits... looks as if she's got Buckwheat in a headlock.

i think this just took a strange turn...
BUT! your momma is so fat, when she gets on a scale, it says, "come back when you're alone!" |
I dont post here much anymore.....
love the slantnose........... I mean look at this!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077585987.jpg |
Good bye, thread. I won't miss you.
|
I love this board. I thought it was like the last hold out in a P.C. world and that is what I like about it. I have a pretty dry wit and I'm sure I am not taken the way i mean it sometimes( bump, bump, nudge, nudge, raised eyebrow, and ***** eating grin). Visuals could help us understand the subtlties of some comments , but then again not seeing some of you and vise versa is not a bad thing either. Anyway, screw you guys, I'm goin home!

"Only football recruits for the Ducks qualify for [hookers]...in Eugene."
No you are thinking of one of NeuWeasel's legacy teams... |
I have opened many of thread to think, this guy is gonna get his head ripped off, that was my first thought to fender guys thread, I think he should have bought the car he wants instead of the car you guys want him to buy, I like slant nose car, great looking car, more aero then the bug eyes,
when I first posted on this bbs back in 2000, i got my head ripped off over wanting to put a 3.6 in my car by a purist, i have the 3.6 in my car now, he sold his, but it took almost a year for me to come back, it even changed the way i felt about buying parts from pelican, im glad i came back, And i avoid the threads that someone is gonna get ripped apart, stock, slant nose, 959, whatever it is as long as its a porsche i dig it(well maybe not that white speedster with the tvs and checker seats) Kevin |
Respect
One word sums up the way everyone needs to treat each other, and that is 'respect'. We owe it to fellow BB members to respect their opinions, differing tastes, hotrodders and purists alike. Yes some may be thin skinned, thick headed, electronic media communication challanged, totally OTL, or yadda, yadda, but we owe everyone here the same thing. It's one thing to give someone a good natured ribbing, but there is no excuse for maliciousness, or rudeness. The good thing about differing tastes is that not every car is a mirror of the other. Because of individual tastes we may feel even better about our car or envy someone elses. I'm glad to see the diversity we have.
Nuff said. Party on Garth. |
I enjoy this board and like the ribbing- unless it is a personal shot. Some of the humor adds to the fun.
I especially like it when someone says they dislike cops (being a cop myself of course). Rock on!:D |
TimT,
Argh, he going slow. look how it is pushing. In that turn the tail should be hung out or at least neutral. 935K3s only work well when driven at 99% to 102%. Good photo. Best, Grady (another Kermer K3 driver) |
Lucky me i bought a new cable modem, looky what i was missing :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077594172.jpg
Is that what started all the mess? lol well i can take a hit for that and i am sure i will always...yes my tastes have been horrible, but they are tastes. I come for Ops on the cars and sometimes i get ripped, but its good brings some sense that i dont see. I think this board has misunderstandings and thats all. I dont the ops i get, personally, i just take the advice and factor it in. I think that we all choose Porsche, says a lot. I wouldnt want to be on any other board! So who's ready to give me shet the next i want a hacked slant nosed, cab, 1969 and half of a 1974? :D |
Look at the bright side, you have probably been spared a lot of money and heartache.
|
Anybody who actually gets offended on this board better have NetNanny or CyberSitter installed for themselves - this is a sanctuary of civility compared to most sites. Strap on a set or go watch Oprah, people.
