Hi,
I got the fuel line with the fuel injectors out of the car. How could I free the injectors from those plastic injector blocks? They look to be pushed in only, but without a hammer, I don't seem to be able to push them out? thanks...

You didn't specify, but I assume that your 930 has the CIS type injection system. I recently replaced the injectors in my SC and found that an easy way to pry the injectors out of the "bung" is to find a large nut that will screw onto the top of the injector (after the fuel line is removed). Then you can use a large square shank screwdriver to press against the underside of the large nut to pry the injector out. Sometimes the o-ring will come out with the injector but sometimes it stays in the engine and must be pulled out separately. Replacing the injector was much easier. I coated the o-rings with grease and used an extension with a socket the end (that would fit over the threads) to press the injectors back into place. One or two of the o-rings needed a little extra push with a small screwdriver to finish seating. The "L" shaped tool made for removing the CIS injectors didn't work very well on the 911 engine because of the design of the injector ports. On the 911 engine the ports extend up just far enough to make it difficult to get the "L" shaped tool in position to grasp the injector.
Good Luck! Fred Cook '80 911SC coupe |

The Turbo injectors are screwed into metal inserts in the phenolic blocks. Put a stubby or crowfoot wrench on the injector and turn CCW.
Hope this helps.

Hi Colin,
Thanks for the pointer - so essentially, hold the phenolic blocks, then use a 12mm wrench to unscrew it out? (I have the blocks & the lines all sitting on a bench). So, maybe they are just stubborn then. thanks...
