Resto Problem Number 1
Currently restoring a 71T..
Anybody know a good source for rear quarter panels..? My existing ones have been repaired in the distant past and are beyond redemption... I understand the right side can be bought new , but the left is NLA... In theory anything between 1969 and 77 should have the correct 'flare'... Or am i wrong? Im in the market for a right and left... Good condition.. I dont wanna go with fibreglass, and want to keep the car narrowbodied... Any leads , or help appreciated.. Rgds Doog

Your best bet is to find someone cutting their narrow quarters off to weld SC/RS quarters on in an RS conversion.
I've got a set, but shipping would be prohibitively costly.

Made a few more calls... 71 rear quarters are NLA in the UK and Germany. This generally means that they are made to order, with no promise on time... (this was according to one of the UKS biggest OPCs)
Unflared rear quarters for a 74-77 2.7 would be available by the middle of next week.... Are there any significant differneces??? I dont like rushing , but want my car back a soon as possible.. rgds Doog

74-77 is the same flare, there is a slight differnce in the lower lip of the tail light perimeter, it has a one less bend because of the differnt rubber seal for impact bumpers vs the stamped steel bumper of the 69-73 vintage. I have used 74 -77 on 69-73 cars, it works. and if you are real picky you can cut off the lower bracket and weld it on,though not neccesary, the 69-73 seal will still glue on and hold in place. 78and up have the sc flare.

Rear flare - both stock and RS version
Good thread. As Damon says, try another dealer. Both versions are still available. You need to be looking for....
911-503-061-00-GRV - regular stock '71 version 911-503-045-00-GRV - Carrera 2.7 version These are complete quarters including lock post for doors. Good luck. Jim |

Problem sorted..
The factory sourced a panel from a dealer in Germany for a specialist in the UK, who now no longer needs it... So its mine.. I guess these things are as rare as rocking horse ***** ,this side of the pond... rgds Doog
