I've collected data on every wheel that I could. So far not a single 10" wheel has beed identified. I do know a lot of racers that claim to have them, and have no reason to doubt the claims. Apparantly this information is soo secret that it canna be shared.

I have 9.5x17 +19mm o/s, 275/40x17

Not a single person with 10" rims has stepped up to the plate and voluntered the necessary data.

1) total width
2) front or back space

I have requested this information many times, it has never been provided.

I got an email from Cory at Planet9eleven the other day and you see that wheel in my avatar? He has one in 17x10 maybe I can ask him to take some measurements. Are you just curious or is it for a project?

(sorry Just Driven don't mean to hijack your thread, Cory also said he has never seen a SC/Carrera with 10s)

I'm just an unrepentant gatherer of information(monkey curiosity) and you never know.....

What I really want is the #s from any 10" rim installed and running(at least on a track) w/o issue, wt. and clearance issues are a +

never repent on the urge to know more. I'll try to call Cory and get the story/info off that wheel for you.

Tyson has 17 x 10 on the back of Scruffy--maybe he can add some info--hopefully he'll see this.

Don't know if this helps. I recently bought a '74 RSR clone which came with 10x17 rears w/275's and 8.5x16 fronts w/245's The wheels are 3 pc BBS race wheels w/Fuchs centers. The backspacing on the 10x17's is 6.75". I'm using 2" spacers on the back, and 1" spacers on the front. This fills out the wheel well.
I use 9x17's w/275 Hoosiers on our '73 track car which has RS factory flares. With a back spacing of 6.5" I need to use a 5/16" spacer to keep it from rubbing on the inside. I'm using 2.8 degree camber for the rear.

there is no way to put 10's on a narrow car unless you move the oil lines, and grind the nut down sticking out of the control arm , i do believe Jack O's BB1 had this done, the offset of the wheels??? do a search bb1 10" wheels or?,

Bill V, this is such a tight fit that the offset will be car spacific, what I mean is no two P cars are the same, , I also believe that caution should be used on tire widths, I did some playing a while back when my car was narrow and the ten inch wheels with the correct offset would have worked with the oil line and control arm change, but I will say that the 284/35 18 tires I had would not go under the fender with out rubbing, Kevin

Ya know something. I did that mod long before Jack and have published the necessary mods years ago( and repeatedly) but some how every one remembers Jack's car. It is really disappointing when everyone credits my work and effort to someone else!! and then tells me what I need to do.

I started this wheel project when I noticed some discrepancies floating around the internet and thought that I would do other modifiers a favor by collating some real #s

Apparantly not.

Yes, the #s have been published numrerous times.

What is needed is the total edge to edge measurement and the back or front space measurement from wheels mounted on SC/Carrera flered cars.

Ok Bill slow down, If I had known you had done this I would have mentioned you or your car, The only person that I have read, (not hear say) was jack, and I new positively there was a post about it, and I experimented with it myself, A couple things you should consider, when I tried this I used a turbo twist replica, that wheel was to wide because ten inches from inside lip to inside lip, and it was like 11" wide outside to outside, I had a set of three piece wheels that were going to a customer so I snook in a fit to see, these wheels were 10 inside to inside but 10.5 out to out, they fit, barely

My thought (I know it doesnt matter but I have been in wheels for over 20 years) that extra half inch isnt worth the money or effort to put tens on, I know the offset, but truely its so tight that each car should be measured to make sure, My car is factory lowered and there is no doubt they would have rubbed, a post on this would be GREAT, showing the alterd control arm and moved oil line,

Bill I believe you are doing everyone a big favor by putting this info together, there is a post almost daily asking these questions, Kevin

This pic, from my web pages, has been posted showing the mods for big wheels and tires

I agree that 10s are an unlikely fit, thats why I have, 9.5-275/40, and don't see how a larger rim or tire could fit, knowing the work involved in getting the 9.5 and 2745/40 combination to work.

Many have claimed to have 10s, no credible #s have been exhibited, most turn out to have been mismeasured 9s, but no credible #S have been put forth for 10s. If they do fit I would like to add them to the crrent data.

again here are the current data

The 10x17 Rufs will not fit an SC/Carrera flare.

Ruf widened the rear arch ~1" to allow their fitment.
