Dual in and dual out Mufflers?

I currently have a Dansk 2/2. What is a better choice for a 2/2 with less noise?

Better half is asking.

Plug one of the tail pipes or go to a 2 in 1 out muffler.

rdane,
Just installed a Triad 2 in/2 out. Nice and throaty at idle, good sport muffler sound accelerating and quiets down when cruising at 3-4Krpms. I just replaced my 2 in/1 out Dansk, which i liked, but the Triad is quieter and I really like the sound. I've only had it installed for one day so I may be a bit excited over my new toy. I'll commute with it for a few days and get back to you. I'll try to post a sound clip later.

Al

P.S. Dave at Triad is an artist and great to deal with.

i too have a Triad Dual in Dual out...love it...and would recommend it. Good solid muffler and it sounds as good as it looks.

EW, the 3.4 isn't running yet. Getting there though.

Is the Triad available in stainless? How much are they?
What is the noise level in comparison the the Dansk?

I don't have one, I've just read enough positive feedback on here that I bookmarked their site, hopefully it'll be a future mod.

Dane,
That's the same muff that Superman has. I remember it sounded great a dyno day, but can't remember comparison to yours.

Not to spoil the party, but I have a Triad on my SC and the drone fom 2-3K is pretty irritating. I am certain it makes more power than the oem style 2 in 1 out I had on there but the tradeoff is not worth it. Dave is a super guy and is willing to take mine back but I am going to try and modify it a bit to see if I can stop the drone. It is probably my own fault, as I didn't want to cut the valance on the right side, so Dave made a custom setup with the right side tip facing down. I bet if it were pointed out as intended the drone would largely disappear. Out side of the 2-3K range it sounds absolutely fantastic; nice rumbly idle and a throaty WOT sound. I am going to shorten the tips to see if that helps.

Bobby,

i have noticed the drone too...im wondering if making the tips just about a half inch smaller might reduce it a bit...

also, that little drone is telling you to REV IT up!

Just commuted to work (50 miles on I-5) for the first time since installing my Triad. It's great. Sounds throaty at idle, sport muffler sounds during acceleration, cruising at 3500 + it really quiets down alot. Quieter than my Dansk 2 in/1 out. Lot's of effective noise cancellation right where I cruise on the freeway. I couldn't be happier. This is my 4th muffler in 6 years, looking for the right combo of sound/performance.

P.S. I asked Dave, at Traid, about resonance. He did reccomend that I go to the dual out that requires cutting the valence. I'E. both sides out at the same attitude. He mentioned that the version that he makes with the right side pointed down, which doesn't require cutting the valence, could resonate.
