Alloy trailing arm conversion, E-brake does not fit!

I am finally ready to fully re-assemble the entire rear suspension on my '69 911S.

I had the engine/trans out and repainted the engine bay and detailed everything. While out I installed '74 alloy control arms, with new monoballs from Elephant. I bought these control arms bare a few years back. After installing the arms, I re-installed the engine/trans.

Well.... Im all set for putting everything back together and step one is to bolt the Emergency Brake assembly to the a-arm. Easy right? Nope

It does not fit. The e-brake plate with the springs/shoes and all just will not go onto the alloy control are. It is clearly of a different inner diameter and will not fit.

These control arms are from a '74 model. My car is a '69. There have been TONS of posts and articles about this conversion on pelican, in magazines and on other websites. NEVER have I read anything about specifics of any e-brake compatibility problems.

So.... folks you read it here first. Early car e-brakes are DIFFERENT. They will not bolt onto the later alloy control arms. When you go to buy the alloy arms.... MAKE SURE you get the e-brake assemblies with them!

BTW: anyone have any later model car e-brake assemblies for sale? Another week gone waiting for parts
