need heater help

After opening the climate control unit (automatic), i discovered that the servo control rod wasn't connected to the lever. The reason that it disconnected is that the lever will not move backwards (towards the rear of the car). What would cause this to happen? My guess was that the heat exchanger valve is stuck in the closed position but i haven't lifted the car yet to see. If this is the correct diagnosis, is it an easy fix to unstick the valve? Any advice would be appreciated.

If it was an SC I could give you a blow by blow. But I don't know what your looking at. It may be similar but I don't know.
That was a waste of a post huh?

I don't have an automatic. Mine has two cables running from between the seats to the flapper boxes near the heat exchangers. If the cables are good then something must be jambed up in the back. But My car is a cave man car compared to yours...lol...
And you have already figured that out anyway.
