Looks like a 70E to me.. 71's had a 3R case ( the 901 #) and had engine serial #'s starting with 620, this one being the one thousand and first produced.

(the engine serial was looked up from the Johnson book, engine code from BA and the 3R being from my pesonal experience.)

Intersting but stranger things have happened.. I wonder if someone's rebuilt the motor to 2.4 E specs.

WELL PUMP # MATCHES 0408-126-010 70/71 E BUT WHO KNOWS MOTOR SPINS FREE AND UNDER THE COVERS LOOK GOOD. HOW CAN WE TELL IF IT IS 2.4 SPEC REBUILD . THIS WAS FROM A FAILED 914 6 CONVERSION SO I FELT A LITTLE MORE COMFY BUYING IT USED AS WORST CASE I COULD PART IT OUT . BUT ALL IS HERE AND LOOKS GOOD .
