911R clone ??
guys;
i'm considering turning my '66 into a 911R clone. although i may warm up the engine a bit, i'm primarily concerned w/ body & interior. what's available aftermarket besides the tail lights, deck hinges & plastic door handles ? ...or should i lie down until the feeling goes away ? all help appreciated. cheers jerry castro valley, ca. w/ a '66 that carries the same serial number as a 750CC Rice Rocket. i hope the CHP can tell them apart. |

Man - you're threads are everywhere. Yeah, but so are mine.
Look up these guys (http://gt-racing.com/), they have what you need for the exterior of a wannabe 911R. As for the interior, do a search on sport seats; there are a couple companies who provide authentic reproduction sport seats. Maybe you can have them. Either that, or hold out for someone selling a pair. I think all else in the interior department is fairly obtainable - possibly because there wasn't much in the interior of a 911R to begin with.

hi Andy;
thanks for the tip re: Ernie's site. i've been drinking in the info. that's quite a resource he has. i signed the guestbook. hopefully we'll correspond directly soon. P.S. how do you keep the nose on the ground once you "lose" those 20Kg. cast iron weights in the stock front bumper ?? cheers ! jerry

Jerrry,
If you need R style parts,I make the best fitting rear lamps and have a front conversion piece that's cheaper and easier to do the front than new fenders. |

John;
you make a good point! MarkP; of COURSE i want a real one. right after i win the LOTTO ;-) Minkoff; i was talking to Paul Joyaux yesterday & apparrently it's all in the suspension tuning. he recommended Rennsport Racing (Portland ?) not sure i plan to track the car, but we'll see. Swanson; yes, you came highly recommended from another pelicanite. i'm still doing my homework, but you're on the short list. again, thanks all... i appreciate it, especially the great pix! cheers jerry
