How about some RSR-styles headers and a twin-pipe (center) Sport muffler?

For the RSR-style headers I like Paragon Products @ www.*****************.com and do a search on headers.
For the muffler, I'd go straight to our host; http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_exhaus_pg3.htm#item8 There are tons of options out there. I have the Sport muffler and absolutely love it. Have fun!

I second Kurt's the suggestion of SSI. They are very good headers which also supply heat. Don't overlook the need for heat even in a warm climate.

I can't count the # of times I have been in a race car that needed a defroster to clear the windshield on an early summer morning. Your choice.....

Sound and performance ? Trust me SSi `s are not low performance headers. They are headers which are just as good or better than the open pipe units on the market. What makes the SSi units better is the premium quality , stainless build materials , and last but definetly not least , HEAT ! . Oh and if you go for open tube(unsheilded headers) you better not have an oil leak . Do you like fire ? The shielding on the SSI units also work as a insulator to the extreme heat generated from the primary pipes and as a result they dont light up the oil very easy.
QUOTE : "For the RSR-style headers I like Paragon Products @ www.*****************.com and do a search on headers." Brad which headers is it that you like ? What did the paragon headers do for you ? Or are they on a friends car ? Kurt Williams

RE: mufflers
I'd go w/ the Monty Muffler over Dansk or a sport muffler like Brad has on his (center dual out).

Stepping in since I'm here.
On your RS engine, don't expect any performance increase, the only muffler that even has a chance is the sport muffler and it's a very small increase if any. You can get better sound out of it (other than Dansk, imo) and the stainless steal system will last forever.

Performance increase over the stock R/S exhaust ? None likely to be found. Unless your exhaust is going to have a turbocharger bolted to it you wont effectively be able to improve on the factory exhaust . Some headers may give you 5-10 extra ponies on top end but you will lose 15-20% lowend power on an engine that has nearly none in the first place.
Now exhaust note is a whole other story. I have almost every muffler made which includes the B&B , GHL , Monty , and Bursch. My opinion on best sound is the dual in dual out GHL unit . It just sounds so good. The Idle sounds like a big block chevy with a race cam and the revs are like a high end $$$ italian 12cyl . Unfortunetly they are also the most money. I think they are $950.00 new . Mine is also for sale . Heres a few pics. Kurt Williams ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Would sell that muffler/straps/new gaskets/new hardware for $650.00 if your interested. I ended up turbocharging that motor while still using the SSI`s and the muffler is just bolted to one of my other projects to make it sound good while it gets moved around.

Hey vince wanna trade your motor (911/83)for mine ? I have a newly built 2.7 using a 7R case . 1977 heads with the updated guides, case savers , carrera tensioners, etc . Its a CIS injected t-4 turbocharged 300hp monster. I will pay for shipping both ways. Just thought I would ask since your looking for more power. 90 extra HP would sure feel better.
