17" Fuchs: fronts vs rear diameter

I have a little cash from the tax man, and was thinking of getting a set of 17" Fuchs made up.

The rears would be 17x11, of course, but the fronts. I think I prefer the 2pc look vs the 3pc

Right now I have some SpeedLine wheels which are 17x11 in the rear but 16x9 in the front. I run 315/35-17 in the back and 245/45-16 in the front. If I went to a 17" front, what tire would I run, and would I have clearance issues?

I run 255/40ZR17 in front.

25.0 inch diameter (your 245/45-16 is 24.7 inches).

In back, the 315/35-17 is 25.7 inches in diameter. It's a shame there isn't a 315/30 available (which would be 24.4 inches).

Your fronts - are they 9, or 9.5?

9.5 in front. 11 in back. (I have to run 1-inch spacers in back, to fill things out.)

Are your trailing arms stock, or at least the stock geometry?

They are stock 911 (not Turbo), but the mounting points have been moved up. I don't know if this changes the car's track. Depending on your schedule, you should come out and see Tyson and I during the OTC. You could test fit one of my wheels to see what would work for your car.

Thom, if your flares are factory Turbo, then you can fit 9.5" wheels up front with 275/40. It will require some negative camber and the usual fender clearance mods.

Thom - out of curiosity what will it cost to have a set of these made up? I am thinking of doing something like this for my 930 as I prefer the OEM Fuchs look but really need more rubber than I get with the stock 16 inch 7 x 9s.

p.s. We will be back on the track again next week.
