I've not had a chance to dig into that part of my garage. I'll try to find it this week after work sometime. I should have a chance on Wednesday.

A few new photos and breif update
A few of us made it up to Ed and Nancy Broadhead's in NH on the weekend of August 6. We hoped to meet with Jane and the boys and also to check out Jane and the late Barry's restored Targa. Jane and the boys did not make it but that didn't stop me from taking a few pictures.

When the Targa is presented to Jane is still undecided. Ed is working out a mutually convenient time. And yes, the car is just as beautiful as the pictures show. You should all be very proud. And enough cannot be said for Ed, Damon, Chris B, Rick, John, and the many others who had a big or small hand in this. |

That car is fit for a museum. Congratulations to all that put their heart and soul into it.

Great Job Guys!!! We are all very proud of what you each have done. :D

A whole bunch O'good karma is heading to the folks who made this happen.
Thanks to all of you. Not for doing this project, but for being good people and for giving me a better opinion of the human race. You deserve all the best there is to offer. |
You guys from around the country that donated thousands of dollars and parts made this possible. You should be patting yourselves on the back. Even though I know you aren't the sort of people that need that sort of thing, I'm sorry there isn't a better way to thank you all.
Locally we had guys like Mark Hald ("Hald") and Brian Laws ("Briansc") who took the day off and drove hundreds of miles to deliver the car or parts. We had a lot of volunteers that wanted to help more but it just wasn't that practical with the car way up in Sunnapee NH. Fortunately (unfortunately?) for Rick Mastin ("RCM") he lived in the area so he was able to help. The guys who deserve the biggest kudo's are Edgar and Damon. Edgar pretty much spent the winter rebuilding the motor and then spent a lot of time this spring doing the interior. Damon (of Series 900) did the paint and prep for a fraction of the cost - essentially donating thousands in free bodywork. When you get to the Pearly Gates, these are the guys you want to be able to point to and say "Yeah, I'm with him." -Chris |
Thank you Chris, Mark, Brian, Rick, Edgar, and Damon - I am proud to be associated - even if it's just through this website - with all of you.

awesome work guys. Next time I get to the east coast beers are on me.
For those newbies who don't know the story, here is the original thread: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136020&perpage=40&pagen umber=1 |

And nice to meet you too Rick. Ed and Nancy were most gracious hosts.
It would be fun to broadcast the date/time of presentation to Jane and the boys so anyone interested can come. On the other hand, this has been a low key effort and should probably stay that way. I'll publish a couple of photos from the scrap book onto the BBS shortly. C |
I think this whole event is ripe for coverage in Excellence or some other similar publication....
