Removing Window motor.

Last night passenger side window went down, but wont go up. I reversed the wires on the switch to eliminate that as a possible cause. I could only access two of the suspected four bolts for removal.
Question is: can this be removed without taking out the window and entire regulator.

I have taken my motor out but I stripped the door of everything for the repaint. I removed the window frame and the window prior to removing the motor.

I was just looking at this project in the Bentleys, because I need to do the same thing. Fortunately, mine is stuck up. (Not like snobbish, but stuck in the up position...) The Bentleys says to remove the entire regulator, which is really only two more bolts, iirc, and taping the window in the up position (don't let it fall down unexpectedly, warns the book). I'm hoping one of the heavyweights announces is isn't necessary and shares some cool trick, but the book does say it's the only way (sorry).

I replaced the window motor in my 87 Carrera recently following the Bentley manual. You do not need to remove the window, but should tape it in the fully up position. My window was stuck down so after I had the door panel and other parts off I had to push to window up. This really isn't that bad unless you have larger sized hands. Then you just need to accept that your car will get a taste of your blood (and hopefully will not turn into Christine on you).

I just backdated my regulators & couldn't get get them out of the door unless I first removed the motor & lower bracket for the frame. I also used the cheapo suction cups from Harbor Freight to keep the windows positioned.
