Glad I'm doing my DE events 3,000 miles away from that group.
No kidding - and I hope these are not happening in the Green or Blue groups!

Jeremy,

It looks like you're running a roll bar in the first pic you posted. Just curious to what kind, and if the roll bar is required by PCA for cabs ??

Any other track mods (other then the racer tape on the front end) ?? (ie. 5 point harness, fire extingher, etc).

DAS Bolt in Roll Bar - required - and I have 5 point harnesses. Both bolt in / and out with a rachet going completely back to stock.

Roll bar is actually much darker than this - for some reason the pictures make it look neon blue.

Jeremy, I am in Seattle. We have open track days (not PCA events) couple times a month, with and without instructors, but all past students with driving/track instruction and experience. If last summer was any indication we average a totaled car every two to three days of driving.

Thanks for the response - and wow - Open track and PCA are to different animals from what I can tell - I would probably not take my car on an open track day - maybe a cheaper version of it but still anything can happen.

Actually thinking a little about this last night - there were several 993 twin turbos, a GT3 and very tricked out FVD 996. Even though my car is very nice - I felt a little like cindarella at the ball in my $20,000 car!

I expected the GT3 to go by me much faster than he did. I got almost a lap and 1/2 before he went by - and in the twisties I was barely hanging - but in the straights - bye bye!

On average, there seems to be an inverse relationship to the year/price of a car and the drivers willingness to get the most out of it, at least on most of the events I go to. Chances are the GT3 driver was just getting over the sting of the $100k for his track car. These things way into many drivers "willingness" to drive the car to it's limits and understandibly so. Its when you get that combination of an aggressive driver with a late model car that you can see the performance difference in the earlier cars. Then you feel truely humbled.
