just wondering if it would work...
someone on another thread mentioned pulling motors, where on our cars we obviously drop ours. but it got me thinking....would it work if someone attached some anchor points temporarily on say the manifold or intake runner studs, and used a standard motor lifting hoist to hold and then lower the 911 motor directly onto a furniture dolly? i guess a small floor jack could be used underneath for balancing duties. i am a motor dropping virgin so i am purely speculating. just wondering if my hoist will ever do anything besides pulling small tree stumps in the future. i guess the engine lid would need to come off for starters...

I think it would be easier to support the motor from the bottom, then using an engine hoist attached to the rear motor mounts lift the back of the car up and then slide the motor out from underneath. Someone was actually selling some high-quality adapters for floor jacks and engine hoists on ebay to do this.
