Want Your Color Suggestions
After 2 months of stripping and priming, I'm almost ready to send my SC to the painter. The trouble is, I can't decide on a color.
Here are my self-imposed restrictions: Black is beautiful, but too hard to keep clean. I don't drive fast enough for red. I like white cars, but white seems so plain after all the dang work I've put into prepping the car. I'm avoiding metallics because I'd like to do any touch up work myself and metallics are hard to match. I know that doesn't leave me with much, especially if I want to stick with an SC color. I'm considering speedway/ascot green (258). Is this Ascot Green (258) I'd love to hear any other suggestions. ..and post pics if you can. At this point I'm open to Porsche colors of any year.

I always have to vote for Continental Orange. Doesn't work for everyone though. My other favorite is Mexico Blue. I must have a thing for loud colors.
Here's mine: Mike

I favor Guards Red. Red does not mean go fast just looks fast

I would always go with silver if it was my choice.
Silver is so easy to keep clean and very reflective.

Light Ivory or that crazy gray color Audi had... Nimbus Gray I think. Made the car look unreal, depth and shape just came alive.

Ferrari Yellow, it is such an amazing color! I just saw a early 70's mini painted in this yellow and my jaw dropped.

Brian,
I love that green with the decals and spoiler. I was checking out your car earlier this month. Flat6, ISn't Pacific Blue a metallic?

Audi has a new color called Nogaro Blue.
It's a darkish metallic blue with ultraviolet undertones. You have to see it! There's also an interesting blue from VW: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1310809 But if you want to stick with the Porsche palette, I think Mexico Blue and Signal Orange are underused colors.

I would stick with an color appropriate for your particular car year. Find out the available colors or get a color sample brochure. Then buy a small quantity of paint(s) you want to check out and shoot it on some scrap pieces.
I did this with about six different colors, all dark green, when trying to decide the exact color for my Morgan. Turns out, the best 1950's "British" Racing Green color was 1960's Mercedes Dark olive! Go figure...
