source for 3.8 wings
Hey everyone,
I was just wondering what companies people thought produced the best 3.8 wings for 911s, specifically 964s. GT-racing is the best source that I know of, but I was wondering if anyone else had any good, possibly less expensive sources. Thanks, Andrew |

Just so happens I removed a 3.8 from my car that is in perfect condition. It is drilled for both 964's and pre 90 911's. It is a Getty Designs wing... very well built. Here is the deal, it is painted GP white, with the grill painted black. The wing insert is Carbon fiber and is painted with a UV protectant clear... I've had it about 5 months. I paid 450.00 for the wing... 500.00 for the paint job. If it's the right color I'll meet you somewhere in the middle. Let me know. Geof

Geof, sorry, but it is the wrong color, since you had it painted, you probably want more for it than I'd like to pay for the wrong coloe, but still... it might still be worth it even with a repaint. Send me some pics of the wing so I can see what it looks like and I'll think about it.

Here are a couple of shots on the car. My digital is in Palm Springs with my wife. If your interested I can send you more on Monday.
Average price for a 3.8 is around 800 to 1100. I got mine on ebay, it was a blem from Getty Designs. I don't know why it was a blem, cuz I could find anything wrong with it... I'd probably let this go for 650.00 plus shipping... Here ya go.

Yeah, I'd been looking on ebay, but hadn't seen one yet. $650 plus shipping doesn't sound bad actually.... I work right next to a Maaco and they usually do paint/bodywork really cheaply for us, so it being the wrong color might not be too bad. I'm leaving for a track event today, but I'll e-mail you about it on Monday when I get back.
