Anyone ever make their own EDM ?

They're saying it can be made for $275 or less. Pretty interesting.
Broken studs and extractors here I come .

Electrical discharge machine. Since the steel studs have more resistance than alluminum, the studs are eaten away but the alluminum is fine.

this guy I know who makes his own jet turbine engines for model airplanes had to make his own EDM for making the impellers/rotors. He is making a jet that is about 5/8" diameter and puts out about 2psi or thrust..

talk about not needing another addictive hobby, a buddy and myself are currently in the middle of getting PADI (SCUBA) certified.. Low and behold, I found a great SCUBA bulleting board!!

Yes, the equipment is pretty pricey as well

Chris, That has to be the coolest thing I've seen in a while.

Any others make or want to make one of these EDM jobbers?

I'm also curious how it's used to do precision cutting.
