Need fast help - Front nsert replacement

Hi, I am trying to replace the front strut inserts on my 77 911. The shocks are Boge. Anyways, whenI turn the nut under the hood, the whole shock casing turns. What do I do?

Thanks,

David

Hold the washer under the nut with a set of channel locks or other big pliers. The washer is indexed on there, so it'll keep it from turning.

Thats the least of your problems, wait until you try to get the gland nut off

Or use an impact wrench. That's the easiest way to get that big nut off.

Thanks guys, I used an impact wrench which worked. That other bolt didn't want to budge so I decided to wait until I have more time to take the whole strut off the car.

Thanks,

David
