Need help identifying plug - 79sc
OK, after my rebuild I apparently reversed the wire to the air flow plug (the one that cuts off the fuel pump when the engine stops) with another wire to an identical type plug, which is to the left (facing front) and lower than the actual air flow plug. Both female plugs can accept the same male plug. What the heck is this other plug? I think it's a temperature sensor, but for what? Thanks,

I will conjecture you have switched the air flow switch plug with the cold start valve (CSV or 7th injector) plug. Does the car even start? Jim

the blue plug is for the cold start valve. the green one is for the sensor plate switch. the colors are very close to each other and easy to mix up.

JW,
I guess so, because I thought they were both blue! Thanks a bunch. Jim, I'm a bit surprised, but yes, it has always started. It has only been this way for the 500 miles since the rebuild. The odd thing was, in the recent warmer weather (or maybe it was the new alternator which is running about a volt higher than the old one), it would run about 20 minutes and then die. After looking at the schematics and realizing that the fuel pump was coming on earlier than it should have, I remembered being a bit confused about the two plugs during reassembly and decided to switched them back. Then I decided that I'd better find out to what I was sending power.
