Front Sway Bar Drop Link Bushings - Help
Dear all,
it's the first time I'm writing to this forum so, please sorry if I make some mistakes. First of all I have to thanks Pelican Parts because of their professionality and competence. This is my problem. Few days ago I bought from this site the following item : Front Sway Bar Drop Link Bushings (stock bar), set of 4, 911/911 Turbo (1965-73), 914 All Now, when I've got the package, disassembled the old bushings and installed the new one, I discovered that the original metal piece inside the bushing had an 8mm internal diameter hole while the new one has a 10mm hole. Now, the problem is of course that all the original hardware (screws and car brakets) is 8mm diameter setted; - if I leave the new one I have a not properly good situation given the fact the screw is 8mm and the hole 10mm; - if I try to reuse just the old 8mm internal diameter iron pieces with the new bushings is not safe because the external diameter of the iron piece is a little bit less than the new one (i.e. it is not kept tight from the bushing); - I have thought to re-drill the holes in the car brakets (10mm) and to use a right sized screw (10mm) but, before to do this thing and permanently modifing the car, I wanted to have your confirmation or some expert opinion... But... I have the right pieces or I miss something ? My car is a 1973 911 E Targa Please give me a hand. Thx. Bye. Steve P.S. Sorry for the inappropriate language but I'm Italian... ;-) |
