Talking C2 struts on a '75

Can it be done? There is a set on ebay and it got me ta thinkin'. Can I modify these or my car to accept these? The reason I would want to, is to upgrade my front brakes from the tiny m calipers (I get fading even at Auto-x). C2 STRUTS ON EBAY

If you get fading at an Autocross you probably have problems with your brake system i.e. it's not working correctly. It's been a while but I don't remember ever feeling any fade autocrossing. (Brake fade that is. I probably experienced a lot of brain fade.)

I'll post some pics over the weekend
We're still waiting for the pictures from the last time you claimed that something odd could be done.

The C2 struts are totally different and not at all interchangeable w/ 911/930 parts. I would really like to see the pictures.

If you want 3.5" ears any late (thru '89) 911 or 930 strut will do.

Thanks guys. I didn't think it could be done easily. I'll pass on the ebay struts.

Any ideas what could be wrong with my brakes? They work fine on the street - full lockup. It's rare on autocross, but sometimes they do seem like they're fading. My brakes, not my brain.

Old brake fluid will have more moisture in it (it's sucks it out of the air) will boil easier. Old rubber brake will swell shut and keep caliper pistons/pads from retracting - so the the brakes drag and heat up.

Chris, if you are experiencing fade at AX something is not working properly. AX is too short in duration and low in speed to cause fade on even the worst of the 911 brakes.

Post some more detail about how your brakes are behaving and their rebuild history. You'll get plenty of help diagnosing the problem.
