Oh this is dangerous... I was just thinking of things this morning I wished I could fabricate if I had access to a machine shop.

Thats what I get for watching Rides and wishing I had a 5-axis milling machine.

Oh Wow. What a great way to use the Internet.

I see a 930 injector block bulk order coming up.

And once you get over the initial setup cost, the price for higher quantities seems very reasonable.

This business has to be doing great. A good idea for a slow machine shop for sure.

I made an inquiry into doing repeatable mandrel bent pipe. Let's see what they come back with.

How can I transfer the pdf plans for Jorge's (targa dude) RUF style airbox cover into the CAD program? Needs to be redrawn? This could be interesting.

Sounds like the import feature is not reliable. It's reccommeded to use their tool from the start.
Would you use Vacuum formed plastic?

the laser cut will have taper, as in the entry side will have a biger diameter on the thicher materials, but +/- .003 should not add cost to your designs.

I guess if that'd be cheapest / easiest? It'd be interesting to see a proper product go through their system.

Did you see the second page of the thread? Showed a milled telescope adjuster thing-a-ma-jig . Pretty impressive. Took a while for delivery though.

WOW. Missed that link 1st time round. Very impressive. I have no idea where to start redrawing the airbox into 2D as that seems to be what they need to work from.

Wish I had found this 3 weeks ago, would have possibly saved a few dollars.
I tried the software, it will be a time consuming task to make the 930 injection block shape! The injection hole will be the hardest part and most important the injection hole angle needs to be correct. If anybody is interested in trying it send me a PM and I can supply dimensions taken from a plastic block. I previously modeled this in a different program but it won't import.

This could be a great opportunity for some of the CAD/CAM types here to make a few extra bucks. Any takers?

Magic, Can you you import your model into a more mainstream program and from there into EmachineShop software?
