Upgraded Deck Lid and spoiler

Question...

Has anyone retro-fitted a 1984 - '89 Carrera with the Carrera 2 or 4 decklid with the oscillating spoiler.

If so, was it worth it? and does it work properly. I.E., raising at 50mph, retracting at 30 mph and the ability to manually keep the spoiler raised.

Thanks

It will not be speed sensitive unless you come up with a clever way to do it. Guys use a power window switch, sometimes in conjunction with a 'one-touch' load sensor device to make the wing go up or down with a single input. But they have to manually raise and lower it.

Compared to a flat decklid, it will reduce lift and improve cooling. It will not provide as much lift reduction as the bigger, fixed wings. The 964 (and later models) did not need as much help from a wing because Porsche had significantly improved the tub's aerodynamics.

I does look cool, however. And it's fun to raise it right before you punk someone at a stoplight.

Hahaha, I can see that now, black beauty facing off against some ricer in a civic. The kid looks over, sees the tail going up and thinks, "Oh! Schtick, I am screwed, man!!"
