Rage against the Machine
Since you quoted it. I will make an attempt to upstage you.
"The Hypocrisy of Democracy" Why are bands like "Rage Against the Machine" so popular. Because of this very reason. One nice thing about living in Massachusetts is we have a Chapter 93 which deals with consumer protection, whereas it says the defendent may be liable for up to treble damages. When you send a demand letter with that attached to it, it seldom goes unnoticed. I had a guy hit my race trailer a few years back (his fault) in which he recieved a citation. But because I had liability only on the trailer, his insurance company told me to screw. Which I followed with an attorney, a nice fat check showed up FED EX three days later. It's a sick world we live in when a gentlemans word and doing the right thing is non-existant. Erik Madsen |

First of all everyone needs to know Elgin cams and CCR (Custom crankshaft repair) are not related in any way.
Armando Ayala is a good freind of mine, in the 14 years I have known him I have never ever seen him flat out steal from a customer. 911ctS's post is right on describing this situation. I wish I could recommend him to my customers but I will not. He has an absolutely horrible turn-around time. I understand and believe all the problems Erik has had with CCR and there is no excuse for Armandos actions. I have called Armando myself concerning Eriks situation and I was told he will finish the crank and get it out. Hopefully this week. Can anyone tell me how to Identify the crankshaft Erik is looking for from other 911 cranks? If I was to stop by and snoop around at CCR how would I know which is a 2 litre? I also have a freind with Porsche parts. Is there any better version of this crank over another?

This "armando" guy hopefully will lose a ton of business over this post, and over his terrible reputation. You get what you deserve in this life...if you put out shi-t, you eventually will get it back to you
Thanks for warning us Erik |

he has had my crank for nearly two years...he has scheduled me to come pick it up three times, each time failing to show up. In that time he has repeatedly promised delivery of the crank "week after next" or "next saturday" or "when it comes back from heat-treat" I have delivered him partial payment, and other parts to complete the job at hand. He has these parts, my money, my crank, and has exhausted all my patience.
He is, in my opinion, a liar and a thief. I have heard the same evaluation from other local shops WHO CALL HIM THEIR FRIEND, yet refuse to use his services or to reccomend him. One of these shops was an engine builder that i planned to use to assemble the still crankless motor. There is no way in hell i will do so now, based on Armando's performance in this matter. A word to other bay area shops who have even remote relationships with him...he is costing you business also. After ignoring multiple deadlines, and repeated requests to simply return my unfinished parts and my money so i can go elswewhere, he has run out of chances. I am in the process of initiating legal proceedings against him to include damages for loss of use of the vehicle, among other things. In researching his business practices i have found similar stories still pending. I'm reviewing the requirements for forming a "class" to bring suit once with multiple plaintiffs. I find it disgusting that I have to resort to the legal system to impose a solution on Armando while our corts struggle to deal with REAL criminal activity, but he has left me no choise. If you have been similarly handled by Mr. Ayala, shoot me a PM. Id like to know the details of your story. |
