Heat questions
Okay, this is a stupid question I know but I gotta ask it just the same.
My SC has the defrost levers in between the seats but when I pull them they don't stay up. there is a nut on the passenger side of the assembly that is not more than finger tight so I imagine it is supposed to be tigher. The actual question is: Are those levers supposed to stay up when I pull them up? Thanks! Flame on! ![]()

Mike-
the 2 levers on my '85 stay up in whatever position I put them in, but I've got manual heat. Do you have automatic heat control (option M424)? I'm not sure, but if you do, the levers may be controlled by the automatic control. Hopefully others with better knowledge will chime in.

Yes,
Tighten the loose nut untill your levers can stay up. The levers between your seats are for controlling the amount of heat comming into the cabin. Where you want heat is controlled by the red lever/knob on dash (foot, window or both) Middle black knob is for directing fresh air up or down. Upper black knob is for amount of fresh air into cabin and blower. :-) remember lever to the right of handbrake is for heat, left of handbrake is for handthrottle:-)
