AFU - Naturally Wired
what has started as a stereo install....
Stereo install - Should I be worried? ....has transformed into an Alarm UN-installation project. but you know what? I'm happy because my car still starts....HAHAHA WOOHOOOO.... now where does this wire go?

the alarm wire monster is dead and gone:
however, if i disconnect any one of those 2 orange wires going into the black thing, car will not start..... other side of orange wire goes into a 5 prong thing that plugs underneith the dash on drivers side. any ideas? Last edited by on-ramp; 05-07-2004 at 05:17 PM.. |

That's a starter interrupt relay. It's not going to harm anything just leaving it there. It'll probably be safer than trying to splice the two orange wires together, which are power wires going from the "start" position on the keyswitch to the starter. Unless you have a good understanding of what you're doing probably best just to leave the relay in place. Just wrap it up in electrical tape and put it back and you'll be fine. It'll never give you issues as long as the brain has been removed.
