Head Temp Sensor Replacement

In reviewing the threads associated to this topic, I have one little question:

The upper gromet has three wires fed through (one being the temp sensor)...The new sensor I received has the same gromet with three holes but it is not slotted for the extra two wires. Do I slice the gromet to fit those other two wires?

Thanks,

Yes it should have been slotted for the other two wires. The one I bought from Pelican was.

the slots are there. just twist it hard to open them up. spray silicone it before trying to pop it in place.

another tip: don't get to carried away tightening the new one into the head. they can shear off.

Replaced the Head Temp Sensor this afternoon.....With the advice from you folks it went really smooth. Took about an hour....

John Walker, I took your advice and didn't over tighten. Used needle nose to snug it up. Used WD on the new gromets and they slid right in.

Thanks folks....
