DME Troubleshooting

After finishing clutch, fuel lines, brakes, car ran fine until last night on a beer run, starting sputtering, stalling, died, fuel was good, pulled cap had spark at turn of key but then it died out, changed out DME relay, checked all wiring, So then, noticed that when someone sat in drivers seat could hear clicking, tapped on DME box and engine starts, tapped again and could repeat engine failure problems, pulled DME, removed and reinserted chip, (SW) then reinstalled, drove home with no problems but am trying to narrow done exact cause. Will pull and inspect DME solder joints, put OEM chip back in, sound like right direction?

Better be careful pulling that chip if you haven't disconnected the battery first.
