I never get over how amazing this story is and the result. A lot of charities cross the desk, looking for donations, but this one was "different"...and those of us who were distant all felt like our cash donations were nothing compared to the efforts of our fellow Pelicans who were close and did all the work. And, from what I saw, they did an absolutely top notch job. Amazing. My hats off to them!

Just caught this thread. Amazing story of love. Sorry I wasn't a part of it.
This is a perfect example of how easy it is to help others when you look for common ground and not focus on differences.
You guys may never know how you touched and changed the Bennet boy's lives.
God bless your efforts!

I really can't believe I never saw this until today.

When I saw this thread yesterday, I was overwhelmed. I logged onto Paypal to send some money, and then I caught my self so I advance to the end of the thread to notice it was 4 years old.

The more I get to meet other Pcar lovers, the prouder I am to be associated with such a generous and honest bunch of fellas.

cheers!!:D

Do we have an update on Jane and the Targa? Any new pics? Did Jane join the Pelican BBS?

Ed B 04-14-2007 06:39 AM

Jane and family are doing well. She is active in the fallen fire fighters association. I haven't seen her since Christmas. I haven't got a pic of the plate yet. I don't think she joined the Pelican BBS but she may be lurking.

We have gotten 18" - 20" of snow in the last two weeks and the possibility of 12" - 24" more starting tomorrow. Spring is here!

Ed: I understand she was having some steering problems. Did that ever get sorted out?

Scott

ED took a look at it and found wires that might have been getting hung up on the steering.

iljaynlayn 08-29-2007 06:16 PM

Thanks for bumping this thread! Despite our bickering in PPOT, you guys are OK in my book :)! Tell Jane we said "hi" and wish her the very best...

Update for you all... She got the car back today.... They found the master cylinder was leaking, a few oil likes and both the fuel lines. She had them all fixed she glade that she had not been to drive training at N.H. Speedway. She loves the little red vroom vroom and loves the support she has gotten from all and would have been devastated if anything had happened to the car.

The family is doing well. One deploying with the Marines this fall. The other two are entering the last year. High school and collage she cant wait for it all to be over to finally get time to enjoy the car and to so me time... May will be wild for them 2 graduations then she will get some me time in the fall when the youngest enters collage.

She has been up to see ED in N.H in July. She would like to get one of EDS cars bad for the Track.... Will have to see if we can make that happen. She loves the fun of running with the Club. She just whishes she had more time......
