Thumbs up BBS Performance...

Okay, a bunch of you have been complaining lately about board performance. Before our move, I had to limit bandwidth because I couldn't increase our Internet connection easily. So I placed a bandwidth throttle on the site to stop it from taking over the connection (and killing the main catalog server).

I forgot to remove the throttle when we got the new connection! So, I just removed it, and now the site should be blazingly fast.

Please confirm or deny!

Anyone else get this message? This one sounds like it might be a browser bug...

I am getting pages that I have to manually refresh to get to load, happened after replying and just browsing... I don't normally have this problem.

Works perfectly for me. What browser/platform are you using? Which links are you clicking on?

(Again, simply saying something doesn't work, is like saying "car no go" - can't figure anything out from that.)

OK , I clicked on this thread, and it displays as if I had a 9600 baud modem.

Other websites load quickly (cable modem here) lately Pelican has been the Lag king....

OK this performance is noted using IE 6.0 on XP and ME OS, and using Mozilla on the same OS

Same thing but sporadicaly. Had a hard time just posting this response. Manually refreshing helps. Getting hung up on replies...
ME
IE 6
DSL

scrubbing the drive / checking the firewall didn't help or turn anything up.
Unusual, but I'm still here

Searching the BBS archives for old posts has just been 'hanging up' for a couple of days, now ... and still hangs up, just now!
