problems with warm start
hello everybody,
i have a weird problem with my '86 3.2 carerra. when i start her up, no problems, runs like new, for 200 mile if you want to , no problems at al. But, if i shut her down and start her up when she's warm, she runs ****ty,she even backfires... Let her cool down for 30min -> problem gone....runs like a charm. i've checked distribution and sparkplugs, they seemed fine, cylheadtempmeter measures around 200 ohm when she's warm (not hot!), so this seems fine to, dme-relais is tested and worked fine... does anyone have a clue what is wrong?? strangest thing is that if you don't have to start her up warm, there is no problem, not even when she's driven till she's very hot... as long as you don't shut her down... anyone?? thx |

Does the 86 have a fuel accumulator?
I know warm starts can be a problem for the SC's due to the fuel accumulator. Not sure about the 86 Carerras. Sorry for not being too helpful.

thanx for the reply!
the accumulator is integrated in the fuelpump. the backfire also makes me think about an ignition problem, because fuel is there! still; i don't have a clue, also because the problem is not aways there.... strange.... |
