Request for some imaging magic please!
If someone could add red Carrera script to the doors and make the wheels center red.
I'm concidering doing this, but would like to get an idea of what it may look like http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1085599780.jpg |
|
not that you asked, but I like it the way it is.
|
You are just dying to modify that car. Leave the outside alone, its beautiful. Do suspension and engine upgrades.
|
leave it alone!
|
You really need to contact this guy for the big red rotor upgrade.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist posting this pic I find it so funny. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1085603163.jpg |
better yet:
Step 1: do a search for "roach" Step 2: soak in the look Step 3: copy suspension mods Step 4: go enjoy |
OMG! Pat that is hilarious! Thanks. SmileWavy

|
I know - I get bored with cars (orignal look) fast.
Bad habit. Thank you for the image though! |
Your car looks perfect to me! Tell you what... I'll take your car and you take mine! (There's plenty of room for modifications and improvement on mine!) ;)
|
david914 thanks for the coment.
I'll trade ya my 89 Jeep Wrangler for your 97 Land Rover? Just kidding! |
I dont normally get involved in these sort of posts as I beleive its each to there own taste.
But NOO that car looks great as she stands. |
Please consider selling to me before you make that modification if you are truly bored with it. It looks perfect as it is.

Factory Werks 714-373-4828 (ask for Gary"owner") |
BRJ, You gotta do what you think is best, but that car is OUTSTANDING as is.
|
wow - thank you all for the great compliments, every now and then when I ask about changing something on my car, people suggest to leave it alone. That is so hard for me to do! I know some of you suggest engine and suspension mods first, but to be honest, I am a little fearfull of doing anything that s not reversable.
So far I have done: K&N filter (I know I know, but it was the first thing I could buy for it and install at 7pm on a friday after bringing her home) Removed 90% of a diteriorated sound pad New Front (cross drilled) rotors and pads New custom made magnaflow exhaust (single in and out) Urhum! (efficiently modified Cat) New rear pads and resurfaced rotors Replaced PO prestige amplifier with an MTX (much better) Super white bulbs for the headlights (yes white, not that ugly blue) Today - New Mahle fuel filter (PO had not had it changed since 92!) Valve's adjusted New NGK plugs Oil&Mahle filter. So now I am itching to do something else.............maybe it's anxiety from knowing that she wont be driven this weekend! |
Bigrubber............leave that car alone! It's beautiful as is!
Disclaimer: I too have a M491 coupe and really think you should leave it as is. Of course this is just my opinion and it really dosen't matter. Mike |
NY - The opinions of other Porsche owners does matter to me because I concider most of us "enthusiast" who "know" cars. Especially coming from another M491 owner. I just figured trying on some Carrera Decals and some red paint on the wheels couldnt hurt. Not to mention easily reversable. I guess the money would be better spent on some more track time.
(and new wheels with slicks) (racing seat) |
Don't! It's a gorgeous car.
If you can't fight the itch any longer, get the insets (between the five petals) painted black. But it's beautiful as is. |

BRJ, put the graphic on it if you must. It comes off easily when you get tired of it. Sounds like that won't be too long. Don't do both the wheels and the graphic. The other car with the red looks good............one or the other. In Autoweek there is an ad for some magnetic flames.............:D:D:D:D:D (he's gonna pound me when he sees me) |

Personally, i would spend the money on track time and low hanging fruit performance mods. But do what makes *you* happy :) alf |
I say SCRIPT it!
I would choose white but that is because I have a thing for black/white except I preffer it the other way around... It would be easy to remove if you decided otherwise. It would be cheap to do and I personally like the script. I pondered for quite some time before deciding to give it a try. I told myself that I would remove it if I didn't like the look. Well, I have left it on because I personally think it looks great. I say SCRIPT it! http://home.comcast.net/~cyprusx/scriptpic1.gif http://home.comcast.net/~cyprusx/scriptpic2.gif |
BRG,
If you aren't going to drive the car this weekend, then leave the keys behind, I will take it out for some exercise. Michael |
Thanks George! I wish we had as many 911's to choose from over here on the east coast!
|
Chiming in ...
Leave it alone. Beautiful car. Suggestion: Get another 911 that needs some work. I did that and definitely don't have time for fixin' somthing that's not broke. |
Rick, that is a nice look. It really is, and you have a Carrera. So, it fits. I won't put Carrera on my 71 because that would be like saying it's an RS, which it is not. I did order some MikeZ PORSCHE script to put on my black primered car just to see how I like it. Same as Jack Olsen's car. I'm getting a Mobile Pegasus as well. http://jm.g.free.fr/smileys/hehehe.gif
|
All right guys, I see all your points and they are apreciated, no script it is.
Only think left to ponder is black Fucsh or re-crome to look like new? Zeke, did you say magnetic flames? why not some tastles hanging from the sun visors and a cow on the door? I couldnt help it, sorry! |
BRG,
Don't forget you can try one of my wheels out on your car, might give you something to play with. Where are you going to leave the keys? Michael |
Her Majesty will be staying at my uncle's garage. My uncle is going tp wash her for me.
|
Go with the script and add a duck tail and you have a really unique and awesome looking car - particularly with the wide body factored in -

Phew! She's home! I missed her.
|
BRJ,
Looks like you're considering updates to personalize your car. Perhaps adding Aero mirrors will work. IMO, they'll look great on your car and are reversible. |
Russ--now that car is stunning--is that yours?

Maybe some wide a$$ 17" fuchs - Red or gold wheels and script - That's what I would do. |
you still haven`t used the lens paint to darken your lenses? l bought some from an ad in a ricer magazine and used it lightly on some lenses l had lying around just to try it out.lt worked really well. The text on the can is Japanese, this is the real stuff !
|
She's beautiful as she is.
Is that white/ blue smoke coming out the exhaust? If so, spend your money to take care of that and maybe through in a few upgrades while you're in there ;-) |
