Dent Out: anyone with experience with this device?

Have some minor dents/dings on my door, nothing major that I worry about, but would try to fix if easy and cheap. There is an add I see on the top right of the PP technical forum page and I see drivewerks is selling a device called Dent Out, a paintless dent removal kit for $24.95. Looks like three kits depending on the size of the dent.

Anyone who has used this? Does it work?

Thanks!!

Quincy

I don't blame you for being skeptical! A little hard to believe!

I don't know about this, but I recently had a bad door ding pulled out of my 994 NA. There was even a scuff that looked like it went down to the metal in the middle. The ding was about the size of a silver dollar and was right slab dab in the middle of the right rear fender. I paid $ 65 to have it pulled out and he also did something to the paint. It looked brand new and perfect. It was unbelieveable what he was able to do for $ 65. Since repair is so cheap, I would not spend the money on the this gizmo. He worked for a dent doctor which I believe are chain or franchised.

I've used a paintless dent repair service on the Carrera and my Acura 3.2TL. Those guys are amazing! I wouldn't mess around with a DIY kit. Let a pro do it!

Please, do not use these kits. Most likely you will make the problem worse. Call your Porsche dealer and let them recommend a good dentless repair person.

GSpreeman (Greg) used this tool. For certain types of dents it's probably effective. Apparently it was for him.

I echo the "go with the pros." I can't imagine getting as nice a job done with the DIY kits . . .

If it's a wide, shallow impression the "suction cup method" will most like likely work. If the dent has creases, complex angles or is too small you'll need to pick/work from the rear. Which entails the use of a pro.

BTW, when going to a paintless dent business insist on them using picks that will not scratch the backside of the panel.

Thanks for the replies. Have the same sentiments as most of you, but since the add was a banner on this Pelican Parts forum, I thought maybe Wayne and Tom stumbled on a new device that was better than other DIY kits (or Wayne and Tom have nothing to do with this and it is just an add space to sell for support of this website).
