Harbor Freight carries a small/cheap rolling stool with a shelf underneath it. I keep one in the garage and one in the hangar. My old back thanks me EVERY time I use it!

I have 2 of the HF style in my garage and find that they work just fine for soooo much !

An oil sender party sounds good. If you want beer, I'll have something to go well with it. Must be a while after Christmas for me to clean up my garage. Right now, it's hard to even walk in there. Wayne, long time no talk. My sender keep going bad one after another, make me feel like there might be an electrical short somewhere. Current one goes bad intermediately. It was bad for several months. I just drove it once last week, and twice this week. It's been working well. Somehow my car drives better in cold weather. Maybe I should trace the wire to see if anything looks suspicious. Guys, about the stool, how about sears stool at the price of harbor freight? I rarely go shopping so I grapped several of them on thanks Giving.

When the pressure senders went bad did you test them with a multimeter after removal? Are they failing to an 'open'? (Does the gauge peg to the top of the scale?)
It is just too weird that you would eat a number of them. The one failure I can think of that would look like a repeated failure is if the wire, right at the sender, has corroded up inside the insulation or at cracks in the insulation. I've seen the wire fail such that when you bend it (as if you were replacing the sender) it would start working again. The fix was to clip off about 6" of wire where it was obviously hardened and splice on new.

I didn't test them with the multimeter. The gauge didn't peck to the max, but almost max. The connect wasn't bad. It's the senders were bad, because every time the new sender went in, it works fine for a while. I suspect the wire is short somewhere intermediately that damage the sender internal slowly. Just a guess.
