Please resolve the gas tank restore issue.

I recently bought the POR15 tank restore kit because on one thread I was told it was the way to go for my 74. Now I recently read a chat that said I can not use this because of the baffles in the 74 tank. Can someone who definitely knows please clear this up. Thanks for your help.
