Looks good.. Paint the grommets...

One thing though... You have taken an already funky balance issue and made it worse. Running a front spoiler without a wing, is not the best thing in the world, it can cause rear end lift at high speed. By extending the lip, you made this phenomenon worse... Just a thought.

A duck would look great!!! Love the color!!

I agree on painting the washers black. But I can make no judgements whatoever on hardware-store-style modifications -- my car has many pounds of Home Depot products in it, and a Campbell's soup can that's very visible in the back. ;)

thanks for the feed back. I'm going to paint the washers this week. I have stripped all the weight out of the front of the car washer bottle, plumbing,jack,spare eveything including light weight battery in the smugglers box. The car seemed to wander in the front around 100 mph. After I installed the extension it seems to much more planted at speed. I figure I'm blocking 2 square feet of air flow times a 100mph?? Nothing scientific but seat of pants it feels better.
I'll post new pics with black washers when done

Cd - I think you are on the right track, but I have heard that the spare is part of the cars crumple zone.

are you planning to turn the car into a strictly track only machine?Because although l`m a gram shaver too(bicycle racing term) l draw the line at certain things.There`s a point of diminishing returns here and personally l`ll keep my windshield washer system for the imperceptable gain l might get for removing it.l do take my wipers off during the dry season though,but that`s more for view and wind noise.lt`s a constant struggle to decide what goes and what stays but more then once l`ve found myself reinstalling things after some "situation" that occured due to my race car for the street idea..my .02$

I put on my front chin spoiler this weekend. I did not take it on the highway, so I did not go over 100 mph on Sunday's cruise into Hell (Michigan). However with the driveway I am using, I could not use anything lower.

Way back in 1983 I made a chin spoiler out of sheet metal and a rubber strip for the bottom of a garage door. The van was orange and I painted black tiger stripes on it. A year later the Tiger's made the roar of 84 in the World Series.

Who knows the real affect of a good chin spoiler.:D

There has always been something about a steel rimed tire sitting basically surrounded by the gas tank as part of the crush zone that has freaked me out. I guess the weight saving can get out of hand but it's free and I am fortunate that it's not my daily driver and living in So Cal this car has never seen a cloud.

Nice car. I actually think the fasteners look nice in silver. doesn't bother me any.

It doesn't look like you have a rear wing, so your high speed lift probably isn't balanced. However, it sounds like the front spoiler compensates for the weight you have taken out of the front. At some speed, however, your lift differential will start to make the car handle noticeably differently. I would guess it wouldn't get you into trouble below 120-130

The fenders are rooled and I am running -.65 on the front -1.5 on the back balanced with me in the car. For some reason I nick the outside corner of the drivers side front tire if I lower in more.

I bought the car in San Jose, but it was a complete beater. It had sat in the sun for ten years. the paint had peeled down to the metal and the interior was shot. I just finished (if we ever finish on these cars) restoring it
